DELIVERY - accurate advice updated daily

  • Delivery is normally between 4 and 6 weeks after order.
  • Our greenhouse prices include all delivery charges - unlike others we do not add delivery charges during the checkout process.

SPECIALIST DELIVERY SERVICE: These greenhouses are normally delivered by specialist trained staff in dedicated vehicles. Most other greenhouses are delivered by national carriers who normally deliver to the kerbside only and their prices are based on weight and pack sizes. National carriers normally refuse to carry glass and generally cause more damage. As a result greenhouses delivered by outside carriers are normally made in smaller sections and weigh less, with thinner cladding and framing, styrene glazing less than 2mm thick and OSB floor and roof boards just 7mm thick. The benefits of a specialist delivery service include less damage, larger panels, heavier construction and helpful drivers who will carry your greenhouse to your chosen storage place.

INSTALLATION

  • Installation by specialist trained staff is available as an option in some postcode areas only.
  • If installation is available in your local area the prices are displayed alongside the greenhouse prices.

OPTIONAL INSTALLATION: If installation is ordered your greenhouse will be delivered and installed on the same day by prior appointment with you. These greenhouses are designed to be professionally installed so more care is taken in the factory to speed up installation and minimize problems on site. The result is better quality greenhouses which are easy to fit and longer lasting.

SIMPLE DIY ASSEMBLY: Because these greenhouses are designed to be professionally installed they are also easier to fit yourself. Features of these greenhouses include careful construction with high quality components, larger panel sizes and fewer problems.

WESTERN RED CEDAR: Cedar is a naturally resilient timber which lasts longer than pine and other softwoods even if never treated from new. Western Red Cedar is a sustainable resource from North America.

CEDAR PANELLING: The integral cedar panelling is tongued and grooved cedar matchboarding (finished size after machining). Cedar cladding offers better heat retention in the winter than fully glazed greenhouses and it is ideal for growing shade-loving plants such as ferns. The cedar cladding boards are fully built into the greenhouse frame as an integral part which cannot be detached.

LENGTH AND WIDTH: In the SIZES & PRICES chart the first dimension listed is the width and the second dimension is the length. The width refers to the angled gable wall. All sizes quoted are the external greenhouse sizes unless stated otherwise.

CEDAR BASE: The greenhouse requires a base which can be built in timber, concrete or brick. The optional cedar base is quick and easy to assemble, with substantial ex 4" x 2" cedar beams to prolong the life of your greenhouse. The base is the only part of the greenhouse which is in contact with the ground. It is best to prepare a perimeter footing of concrete or paving slabs for the base beams to stand on. However, with care the base beams can be placed on any surface incuding soil or gravel provided that the ground is flat and level. Our quick draining plastic bases extend the life of the timber base. Corner anchors are included.

TOUGHENED GLASS: Toughened safety glass is the best glazing material for use in greenhouses. It is around 6 times stronger than normal glass so it is less likely to break and when it does break toughened glass breaks into harmless small pieces. Toughened glass is also heavy which helps to resist wind. Full height toughened glass is supplied in larger size panes of glass with no overlapping glass.

COLOURED EXTERNAL PAINT FINISH: A high quality microporous paint system is available in a choice of opaque colours. Microporous woodstains are impervious to water but not to water vapour, which allows the wood to breathe. Microporous woodstains offer superior absorption and protection plus greater durability. Colours are only as accurate as reproductive techniques allow.

VENTILATION: Additional ventilation will improve the air circulation through the greenhouse for better growing results. Automatic openers react to heat to ensure that in hot weather the window will ventilate in your absence. Low level ventilation through side windows will provide a healthy air flow through the greenhouse to ensure improved growing conditions and better crops. You should consider which plants you may grow because some plants such as alpines require more ventilation than others.

RESTRICTED ACCESS: A quality feature of these greenhouses is that they are made in large rigid panels. If access is restricted, your greenhouse can be specially made in smaller sections designed to pass through a normal single door. The smaller sections are designed to be at least as strong as the larger panels normally supplied. There is a charge for this option and notice is required with the order. For more details see "Other options

HEATERS: We offer a huge range of heaters and whatever your specific heating requirements we have a heater to do the job. Electric heaters normally require a standard domestic 13 amp electricity supply. Propane gas heaters require ventilation when in use. A 3kw heater provides heating for a greenhouse up to 8'x12' or frost protection for a greenhouse up to 10'x15' in normal site conditions. Heating requirements vary greatly with less heat required in a sheltered location or a lean to and more heat required in Scotland than in Southern England. Wooden greenhouses are normally cheaper to heat than aluminium greenhouses.

HEAVY DUTY DIY BASE KITS: A fully paved base has no soil inside the greenhouse. A perimeter base features a single row of pavers laid around the perimeter of the greenhouse with soil inside. The kits include weed control membrane which is laid below the pavers. The eco friendly plastic pavers are made from 100% recycled polypropylene. Lightweight and easy to install with minimal preparation, first the ground is levelled and then the weed control membrane is laid directly on the soil. The pavers are laid on the membrane. The pavers can be backfilled with soil or shingle or left unfilled. Unlike paving or concrete these durable bases are self draining and fully relocatable. Designed to spread weight, each paver is 50mm thick and capable of supporting 75 tonnes. The pavers are quickly clipped together with multiple locking points to ensure rigidity. The paver size is 500mm x 500mm so the inside area of a perimeter base is 1.0m smaller than the external size. Where space permits the base is normally laid full size but if required in a tight location the pavers can be easily cut to size without loss of structural integrity. Fast delivery within 5-7 days ensures that you can start work quickly.
